FREE GAUSSIAN GAME ENGINE & ASSET EDITOR

ASHVEIL ENGINE
by Guassia.

Build a world. Shape its assets. Decide how it plays.

A free Gaussian game engine preview for students, artists and game creators. Work with splat assets, place interactive objects and test your ideas in the browser. Start with an empty canvas and add the systems your project needs.

An evolving engine preview. Free editing and private testing are available; publishing and third-party asset rights have separate terms.

Make Gaussian assets

Import Gaussian PLY or native GAsset files. Convert supported static GLB models into splats, inspect a close view and clean up a copy while keeping the original.

Move, rotate, scale, tint and adjust opacity. Shared assets let several objects reference one source.

Build spaces your way

Use top-down and in-scene authoring views to place objects. Add regions, invisible collision boxes and optional doors, collectibles, notes or scene transitions.

Story progression, music and NPCs are choices. Asset-only projects are welcome.

Test interactions

Play with keyboard and mouse or touch controls. Author patrols and look-away NPC behavior, place spatial sounds, and connect supported events through Guassia Script.

The script language is a bounded JSON rules system with checked references. It does not run arbitrary imported JavaScript.

What makes it Gaussian?

Visible authored assets are represented by Gaussian splats: small, oriented volumes carrying shape, color and opacity. Object movement changes an instance transform rather than rewriting every source splat.

Collision is separate. Invisible mathematical boxes can define a walkable arch or solid prop while the visible asset remains Gaussian.

Image conversion makes a flat splat asset. A single picture does not become a complete scanned 3D world.

Detail you can inspect

Judge a tree, sign or character at the distance a player will see it. Fine source detail, good coverage and stable rendering matter more than a large resolution label.

A 4K output is a 3840 × 2160 drawing buffer. It does not add missing surface detail or promise the same frame rate on every computer. Captured colors may include baked lighting.

A practical creation workflow

  1. Open the editor and name your project.
  2. Create or import an asset and inspect it before placing copies.
  3. Add only the interactions, sounds and rules you need.
  4. Playtest movement, collision and performance on your target device.
  5. Keep a local project backup and export a complete playable website package for private testing.

Know what is ready

The browser engine has bounded working sets. Larger authored scenes use source-preserving preview samples. Unlimited visible Gaussians, complete dynamic relighting, articulated character authoring and streamed open worlds are not promised by this preview.

Self-hosting currently shares voice and presence; it does not synchronize a multiplayer game simulation.

Is this a free game engine?

The browser editor is free to use for creation and private testing. You can keep a portable local project with its assets and audio. Commercial publication has separate terms: the planned desktop store has a one-time $100 game listing fee and a 30% platform share of third-party sales. Asset listing has no publishing fee. Paid checkout is not live.

Choosing a free engine for your first game

Can I use it without a story or music?

Yes. A new project starts on a white Gaussian floor under open sky. Add objects, cameras and interactions only when you need them. You can also use the workshop purely to create Gaussian assets.

Our longer-term direction is an accessible Gaussian creation platform for interactive places, games and new visual experiences. We are building toward it through inspectable assets, reusable tools and measured improvements.
